Town of Turek
Turek is a charming place situated in the eastern part of Wielkopolska, where tradition meets modernity. The heritage of the town - weaving traditions are cultivating in Turek by expanding textile industry. The town is a centre where important place is occupied by the electrical, engineering, electromechanical, agri-food, furniture or wood industries.
Turek’s location is a great asset as it lies at the crossroads of communication routes leading to Poznań, Konin, Koło, Łódź, Sieradz and Kalisz.
At the town’s attractiveness affects the closeness of international communications in the shape of the main railway line Paris - Berlin – Warsaw – Moscow as well as the E-30 road on the Poznań – Warsaw route, together with the A2 motorway section linking the West with Eastern Europe. The nearest motorway exit is 15 km away.
The major strength of Turek is the technical infrastructure. A well-developed network of energy, water supply and sewage systems is an important element of the town. Obtaining EU funding is one of the key methods of generating the town’s continuous growth.
